Sketchbook Scavenger Hunt - Sketchbook Inspiration

Monthly Sketchbook Inspiration

Small thumbnail images of sketches in different colours

Create a list of random objects, textures, or patterns to find and sketch from your environment.

Challenge yourself to find and draw all items on the list by the end of the month.

I have created a printable for you or you can write your own list.

Skill Development: Enhances observation skills, creativity, and adaptability in drawing.

Time: 1-2 hours (over the month) depending on the length of the list.

In the first image at the top of the page I used small thumbnail sketches to spot things when I was out on a walk.

Above I sketched a plant and a snail in coloured pencils, painted fruit in watercolours, used thumbnails again to create small sketches and collages from images in a magazine and finally I held three pens in my hand at once to create a continuous line drawing of a pair of scissors.

If you are looking for different media to use take a look at the Art Resources page:

You are welcome to share what you have been inspired to create on the Student Chatroom. "I love to see your work and I know it encourages others." Tricia
